Enigma hear what you say , I would probably swim a smallish smoothhound for a raggie in struisbaai , the pull must be very exciting.But wont go and look for shit further up the east coast.You are right when saying use at least tackle that have a chance.Dont poep against donderweer.

I got mine from Mias, i bought all the stock at woodmead and fourways, and now they can't tell me when they getting again

I bought the 480lbs 49 strand duratest, i think i paid around R280 for 30ft

For now I have setteld on a Puglass 350/7 and TRINI40 for now and then at the end of the year I will get myself a proper swim bait reel.

What is the maximum drag is the trinni 40? what is the drag if upgraded with carbontex?

I pulled 15.5 kilos on my trini 40 out the box on a fully locked drag, with carbontex drag washers from whaler, i managed to pull 16.5 kilos, with line coming off the reel very smoothly between 8 and 10 kilos

Maybe we should ask the experts about the drag on the TRINI40. They should be able to give us more advice.
