Hi Guys, If you are getting between 9 and 10kg's of smooth drag without start up inertia, you have got enough! with a drag set at that rate it is quite hard to hold a rod in a strait stick position for longer then 10min nevermind holding the rod in the upright position like i now you PE boytjies like to do! also remember the AR bearing is designed to carry no more then 10kg's so your chanses of Having the bearing fail prematurely is alot more likely.

So, is it worth while upgrading to the drag or not or is it possible of upgrading the bearing as well with the washers.

At the end of the day I imagine it is still worth while getting them because after you have them it then should not be required to change them again.

What makes Carbontex unique is the fact that there is little to no start up inertia, and of course the durability, the reason guys think that they increase the drag is because they have used the original washers more then once!lol, jokes aside the dartanium washers wear quickly after heating up and it is not uncommon to loose more then half the pressure you stared out with, after only a few good fish, problem is you don't always notice the missing "pounds" until you replace the washers.

I probably sound like a broken record...

No you do not. See, it is things like that that we do not know. Can a person up grade the bearing you where talking about and with what can a person up grade it Lets say it is a TN 40

I have heard a lot of people saying that sandshark gills are one of the best baits for bigger sharks.

Someone does not perhaps have pictures of the correct way of cutting out the gills and presenting it on the slide trace?

you would cut the sandie where the red lines are.

the picture on the left would be good for 2 baits but you will loose alot of the blood.so i would rather cast the pieces as big bait.

the picture on the right i would cut big.the blue lines will be cable ties you will use to make it a round bait to be more streamline when sliding.please dont try and cast this.unless its a very small sandie.

best part off all you can donate the rest of the sandie to someone fishing for "anything for food"

Lessers are a disappointment to catch but surprisingly good swimbaits.

Problem is to swim him you have to break the nose so there is no releasing after using. rig the shark with the hooks hooked in from the back going forward. Hold the sandie down firmly with one hand between the eyes and bend the cartlige up and back, you'll hear a crunch and then he will swim for hours and a surprisingly long way out.

I had one out and eventually picked up of Blue Water bay and off the pier, swam with a 1.8mm leader, 3m of 1.5m steel and 2 x 14/0 on a 0.60mm line and took me out to 350m+
