Guys need some help on this one. I have heard that a three piece rod is not that great to slide a big bait with. anyone had problems like this or does it work fine. Looking for a rod to taget sharks with and want to know if it's a better idea to get a 1 piece or a 3 piece??????

Three Piece Rods for Sliding

You are going to get quite a few different opinions on this topic. There are a few nice 3 piece rods for sliding, however most of them are expensive. One of the rods is the blade hmg and the other is the poseidon 3xh - both are designed for shark fishing and you should not have a problem sliding with them. Some people prefer 3 piece rods as it is easier to carry around. I have a 365/7+1 HMG graphite straight stick and this rod is brilliant for throwing and for fighting big fish. Also costs half the price of a blade HMG.

Thanks man that really does help. Neen looking at a lumis three piece. The traveling side is a bit of an issue as a have a city golf. What price did you pay for your rod, cos the blade HMG's are well out of my price range......

Koeks Sorry to hijack your thread. I am going to Cintsa this January for a 10 Day holiday and I see Cintsa is one of your favorite fishing spots. Is there any tips you can give me? Any tips would help alot as it is more than ten years ago that i've visited the place?

Well have not been there for a while but here is what i remember. If you go dow nthe path way to the beach head right back towards cintsa west till you get to the rocks. Some good fishing from the beach next to the rocks, of the rocks there are some good spots for blue fish normally on the pushing tide, but be carefull not to overstay your welcome or you will have to swim back, not fun. basically all those rocks around their, have some good gullys and some good working water. If you go left from the beach entrance there are some nice surf zones to fish from, just have not been that way for a while so can't remember exact locations.
Would also be worth your while to take a drive back to Chefane and pump some prawn in the river their, very good bait around that area, fishing is also not to bad at the beach at chefane.
