went out to Glen Eden this weekend and turned into quiet a good fishing trip.

Pumped so mud prawn from there the river there and went fishing. got 6 blue fish and 4 big eyes. the blue fish were all undersize but when i changed to my light rod it became great fun. Also very difficult to get them out, but lots of fun. It may be worth taking a drive there when you are on holiday. Will take you not even 10 min from Cintsa.

Also talking to same of the locals and seein the pictures alot of Steenbras come out there on tuesday a 14kg black steenbras came out so its a really good spot. There are lots of gullies and holes so look around and you will find some very promising spots there.

Thanks for the info. How do you the rate Kwelera river. It is very close to Glen Eden if I am not mistaken. That black steenbras is at the top of my species to catch list.

Thanks

My folks have a place at Glen Gariff.........the Kelere river is not what it once was. In the upper reachers you can get leeries and skipjack. The odd decent cob comes out at night and there are spotted grunter.

If you know where to go there are also awesome swimming prawns to be netted.......but that remains a closely guarded secret!!

i would love to know where that black was taken.......the terrian in the area is perfect for them but they are almost like unicorns now days.....mythical creatures!!!

I have tacken some good raggies in the area.....sliding into the bay from the glen gariff side when the sea is calm can produce good fish!!

The same spot is also really good for cob!

Thanks for the info Noweeds. Will you be in that area in January. I see that you have started a guiding service. I might make use of your services if you are there.

Of the rocks on the glen eden side but can only be fished on a low or incoming tide. there is a spot where there is quiet a deep hole and the water looks almost like it is boiling. thats where the steenbras came out, however .50 mm line is a huge requirement. As for the river, as far as i have heard 160 kg of ginger prawn came out their in march and as for the fishing in the river as noweeds said only in the upper regions do you find fish. You do some times see a couple of spottys cruising around but they are nothing to write home about.
