Hey Chris,
Good to see you on hear again mate, your expertise on Jigging has gone a long way in helping me out and its great to have someone like yourself on hear to freely share your knowledge with us....
On the matter of jigging sticks.... As has already been pointed out, we are limited to a few Jigging rigs available in South Africa.... Shimano Trevala series are available pretty much country wide for a fairly decent price, and are certainly suitable for the smaller target species, but as Chris mentioned, these sticks or woefully over line rated.... their 200lb class rods are nowhere near that....lovely little rods though in the lighter weights and for smaller target species.
Shimano Jigwrex models are avialable at a few stores too, which I believe are the same as the T-Curve series you guys get in NZ Chris... our good man Torsa's weapon of choice....

Lovely rods, butt jointed and feel like they really have the backbone to chase serious fish, or at least do a great job in keeping them out of the bricks...
As jigging is still in its infancy here in SA, we have limited availabilty on alot of the tackle that is dedicted to Jigging>>> as the sport gains popularity hear, hopefully more gear will become available at a better price.....
Chris I believe the Jigwrex/T-Curve series fits into that bracket of R 2000 to R 2500, but I'll have to double check that....
There is certainly nothing like the JM series here.... I can put you in touch with the agent who brings in JM and Zest jigs into this country though.... Would love a JM 150 Powerspell to match to my Stella 6k for our smaller Yellowtail......
I'm over in the UK, will be back next week and will drop you a mail.
HT - Mate, we need to get some moulds built off a bunch of my jigs.....
RB - Those heavy Jig heads and plastics will do the business on some reef species and alot else too, not only Kob.... i've been having the same thoughts for a while...
Nepps
PS -Chris - Heavey Metal at Ranfurly is NUTS!!! You guys are spoilt with BIG KINGS!!!! Awesome!!!!
