no 1 and no 5 are the same specie, but because the is an overlap of territory, they only allow guys to keep 1 fish over 110 East of Agulhas, in case by accident the guys confuse the Silver and Dusky Kobs (they can look similar when they are big). West of Agulhas doesnt matter because the Dusky does not travel this far South, or even West.

Having said that Marthin, apparently, and according to Mr Hart from Kalk Bay, when they gutted those big fish from the net, they were full of Roe. Maybe the fish carry those Roe for the Summer, and release them back into Agulhas Current once they head back up the East coast. Maybe they even breed in False Bay as well as the Agulhas Banks ? Do the Scientists even know all of these facts ?

Marthin, your fish was not sexually mature yet......not too sure about the Silver Kob, but the Dusky's only reach maturity at between 5 - 8 years, which can translate to 5 - 8kg more or less.

In most posts u get some internet warrior that makes threats (but doesn't have the balls to really do it)
U know those statements like

U own a mansion, a big 4x4, a nice boat and lots of fishing tackle, and u make lots of money doing what u do
But
In this world there are people that DON'T know if they'll earn a tenth of what u earn at the end of the month, they might make nothing this month, but they also need things, and have families
Once u KNOW what it is to earn a living from the sea, then open your mouth, till then pls stop talking nonsense
I know commercials and I know commercial poachers (no licence), its a hard life, with NO guarentees, in fact everything works against them !
So you wanne burn a net or a boat, show me you'll do it, show me youre more than an internet "hero", that hides behind a ip address !
So u started releasing fish a year ago cause u saw it on dstv, but tell me how many fish has your family TREE taken in their history, doesn't that make your grandfather and father part of that group of rapists and bastards ?
Comments like these are pushing away the very people that spend so much time on this forum trying to help YOU become a better angler

So how do you bullshit people daily, making them believe that the product that u sell is exactly what they need ? And then u know its not !
