Ok... so the day started out well, meeting all the new faces and names behind the chirps... Simen and Michelle laid on a spread of note...

Then Homie, being such a good sport, got with the programme and shocked us with a really professional Bait presentation... a great effort for someone who has only been fishing for less than a year! Well done Homie! Simen was up next and gave us some pearls of wisdom, focusing on things from a Namibian/West Coast perspective - targetting West Coast Steenbras and Kob... I must say, VERY interesting. Then we had Wayne, Kumz and Roy contributing little gold nuggets that one only learns from contact with experienced anglers... Good stuff guys... thankyou. We discussed Baitboxes and various tips and tricks with bait...

Following the Bait presentation, we had a Lucky Draw Raffle, which Andries and his entire family got involved with, bought the prizes and arranged the entire thing... Big ups to you guys! Winner of the Draw was Michael Pike and everyone walked away with something nice... Well done Andries.

Then there was a hastily arranged casting competition... 0.50mm mainline with 1mm leaders was the minimum criteria... One WES laid the smack down and led the comp for most of the afternoon with a throw of 146m... until, lo and behold, my protege Andries stands up and winds one 153 m!! What a booitjie! Andries you champ! Well done! Many PB'S broken, most notably Andries' and Wes who improved his personal best by 20m in 1 morning! Garrick also threw his first measured 3 digit cast... the smile was a beautie!.... Other notable event was Homie's first few casts with a Multiplier...! lUVLY STUFF.

Winner of the Casting Comp - Andries 153m
2nd - WES 146m

:clap12

A few dampers on the event... we missed a few of our regulars... Raggieman, Landlocked... we missed you guys...:(

Simen, as I mentioned before, leaves us for good shortly...:cry1

And the Sharks got a snot-klap...:swear:cens:swear

All in all, another great day... the best one yet... to all who pitched...::respekt: and Thankyou.

I've got to clear the air on this:

:first Wes - for his maginificant cast, made within the minimum specs of .5mm main line and 1.0 mm leader.

:secAndriesH - I went shopping when the rules were decided and never declared my .45mm main and 0.8mm leader.

Well done Wes that is an excellent achievement and NO - you can't have the beers back, I'll put up a case at the next event I attend.

I believe that we will see a lot of gratitude, congratulations and well wishes over the next few days for all that were invloved, that participated and that organised and I wish to add my name to that list with respect to everybody. (Simen and Michelle - we miss you already)

It was good meeting all the new faces and Garrick, I won't slip on your name - again - sorry.

Lucky Draw

It is important for me to please draw your attention to the huge contributions made by Garrick with a handfull of artificial lures towards the lucky draw :dban:as well as to the guys at MIAS Angling and Scuba in Fourways.

Here's a punt for them.

We spent R900.00 with them and walked out of there with close to double the value - Thanks guys :)

One of the principal reasons for participating in Sealine for me is to learn, to share and to grow.
They have donated and marked down the type of stuff that we all need and use regularly and because some guys now might sit with doubles, they will be passing it on to new people in our sport - thereby growing the numbers of people like us.

Give them a call if you prices or if you need to spend some bucks.
Tell them SEALINE was here.

Well done Michael Pike who drew the first prize hamper - may you catch a bag of fish like that on your next trip.

Hopefully some of the MAIN MANNE - agents and distributors can join us for a visit next time and maybe sponsor a couple of those - "I wish I has that sort of money" type of kit - he he he he
