Rods for casting long range

400/0 and /1 will cast almost the same distance as the G2 but weighs 35% more and in the butt is 36mm without a grip whereas the DC and G2 are 19mm in diameter.

I fished with the 400/0 for many years till I replaced it with the blue Marlin 400/3 and then with the G2

Hi

No there are other rods on the way but not in August, Mitchell and Shimano are already displaying their new models of Technium and Force Master and Mitchell Slingshot but they not a DC

DC won't be being upgraded this year already as it's to new Tech to just upgrade.

Some would like to tell you there is a difference but if you strip of the grip of both, like I have with many of the rods I have refurbished you will find both have the Blue Marlin T53 code for a 365/2+1

The new Matrix rods are fitted with Low Rider casting concept guides (unless otherwise ordered) and the Terminator is fitted with Std Guides so the Matrix will always perform best in casting.

Both are excellent FISHING rods and cast a good distance but lack backbone for general Extreme range casting. For that there are better options.

Once again a word of caution on this topic. General fishing and Extreme Range casting to get the fish that no-one else is getting are 2 different things altogether.

Both these rods are possibly the best option currently in terms of light rigs at fair distance but are becomming increasingly expensive and are only available in 1 piece versions.

The 2 piece options that both offer are based on a G2 12' which I personally don't like as with the heavy tip you can get good distance but because of the tip action being so extremely fast it casts a mile but accuracy for the average angler is a huge problem and it is totally unforgiving with playing a fish. The G2 13' outcasts it considerably and has (due to the additional 1') a lot less speed in the tip so is more forgiving in terms of accuracy and playing fish.

Hi, yes, in Pretoria.

We supply the guides to Johan Keet and Japie Subke who are more in your area and do rod re-builds and customising

so i read a few posts back about the conversation about graphite and carbon fiber which also confused me.

but my confusion came from visiting westerns:

where the salesmen told me about purchasing the westerns rod brand which is better because its made from carbon fiber and not the old graphite technology.

and that the test curve will last longer on the carbon fiber rods versus graphite.

Hi Naruto

With regards to what rod to buy is tricky but simply. The best fisherman won't get his satifaction cast, that's why they invented bait boats. Get the picture?

I suggest a rod to your hand strenght and a reel that u comfortable with and measure your weight before casting if the weight is heavy enough to make your reel run when casting. Most important is the weight of your line...

Read the whole thread from page one.
You're clearly missing the conversation.
My 2cents.

How would a custom Purglas (say 400/1) compare to the G2 and DC and even the 13' Rocket?

Naruto,

In my view the G2 is by far a better rod. The DC and Rocket rods from sensation are really stiff and don't have the same tip action as the G2. So what do you want to use the rod for?

The G2 will give you the ability to get the distance, but also allow you to get small fish without getting hook-pulls. I not so sure that the DC or rocket is capable of that.

Most of the time fish are caught between 30m to 120m. These distances are easily achieved by most competive anglers - Boats are not an option, they are not allowed at competitive comps.

Went test casting the Whole range of rods we are unveiling at the tackle trade show this weekend.

14' 6-8oz with 200lbs Braid leader 50lbs braid and 6oz (158gr ) sinker we got 182m

10'6 Oval DC, average cast with P4 was 152m

12' Oval DC We got it up to 192m (myself and Thinus0 then I hit a 200+ and had Bragging rights till Thinus hit a 215m

Then we took the multiplier rods and Trophy hit 163m with a 6oz on the 5-7oz and we then had 3 guys go 170m and then Thinus hit 181m

Then the 300gr sinker on the 7-9oz 14' and we all were doing 150-155 average with a 161m somewhere inbetween.

But I still love my G2 13' rods, the Oval DC's however have a lekker tip action for added sensitivity when playing a fish

My persoonlik voorstel vir "best of both worlds" G2's of die Shimano Beastmasters 3.25lb

Die G2's gaan jy nie in 'n winkel kry nie.

Dis "custome made" jy sal met Enigma moet praat oor hulle.
Daai stokke is ongelooflik
