Rods for casting long range

Thanks again Enigma, I always thought there was a slight difference in the models, where as some of my friends said I was crazy and that it is just a rod. I also do believe of having two of the same rods.

I would like to get hold of another F2532-22N. So far the only change I would make to the rod is the Guides perhaps.

But when it comes to the technicalities of rods I do not really have much of a clue what people talk about mostly.

Or I'll have a nice talk to the wife and safe up a bit more for a new set of rods.

I have a huge liking towards the rocket oval and Slipstream rods, unfortunately the the price is a bit out of my range for now.

Looking for a nice distance rod with a fast action tip.

Ek lees nou julle goete en ek verstaan nie lekker wat julle bedoel met die terme "P" as aanduiding van 'n sinker se gewig nie. Ek vang hier by die groot dam innie Kaap en ek ken maar die ou terme "oz". Alhoewel ek begin leer visvang het by n dam. I don't know much about statics and slapstokke en stywe stoke nie. I put my bait on my hook, clip my 6-8oz sinker onto the 'little-devil-clip' en dan laat lees ek hom. 130tree is meer as genoeg. Kabeljou se kind sal hom optel. Maar ek kom agter dat ek baie verder gooi met my Shimano Altegra cl4 14000 en 14ft SS50-50 Blue Marlin Super Slim Solid rod met n bionic finger. Hahaha...daar waar hy val swem nie klein vissies nie. Maar ek moet byse, die Altegra kom uit met n aliminium shaft. Ek het eenkeer n bamboesvis gehaak toe strip daai shaft in sy glory in. So as jy besluit om vir jou n Altegra aan te skaf, gaan maak n draai by Oom Keith voor jy see toe gaan. Ek het nou n stainless steel shaft in, kan die Koeihaai saam die bamboes uitsleep..

Your comments are good, but for saltwater only, none of the terminal tackle reels or rods would be any good for the discussion direction of the thread.

If you want long range for salt get a CDS Angling 6oz based on Super Slim, load 30lbs and throw a 6oz over 200m

In daai prys klas sal ek se kyk na die Velocity V1 stokke.Ek gooi my Velocity V1 13ft stokke ner so ver soos my Dc light 13ft stokke en hulle is baie goedkoper.Met die 13ft gooi ek 140m met n M1 en bol.Met n p4 en bol gooi ek 170m.Met my Velocity V2 10ft stokke gooi ek 127m met n M1.5 en bol

Hi all, would it be worth it to fit low rider guides to the Okuma tournament pro rods? for the 13ft ones and what would the price estimation be.

Hi Guys,

Is there a comparable difference between the Okuma F2532-22N 13ft rods and the WAFT Bulletproof 12ft 3.5lb rods in term of performance like tip action / distance angling.

See the price difference is major, but do not fully understand the technicalities yet.

13' DC Elite outcasts the Razor..... Personally I don't like the Razors.

DC Elite or WAFT Evolutions are the newest in the stable of fishing rods that also cast a long way

I am also interested in buying long casting rod. I know as previously stated its more fisherman than the rod but what will be the recommendation between DC Elite and Shimano tribal long cast. I have raging bull and sensation rockets currently.

I feel the tribals too heavy, I recently went onto dc pinpoints and I will never turn back, distance, accuracy and comfort are all there in that beautiful piece of art. I cut down from 12.6 ft rods and went 12ft with the pinpoints and they still out perform most longer rods

Sooo I see the new Shimano Aero XTR is about to hit the market. Does anyone have any info about it, like what type/quality carbon/graphite its made of or Test Curves ect? I see the 14" is A 3 piece, and that the top piece has a parabolic action. But thats about all the info I have seen.Would like to know how it will compare to the dc light limited and the supercaster...any one, Enigma?

I did the designs of the rods and the layouts of a whole series of the rods.

It is a really good casting rod based on a European surfcasting rod and yes it does cast a Looooong way and has a Biiiiiig $ tag
