RESCUE MISSION

Found this little guy on the main sand bank at the N2 bridge at Swartkops the weekend.

 

He was stuck in a small pool on the sandbank and the tide was still a long way from coming in again.

Decided to set him free, we grabbed a towel and lifted him to the main channel.

Nice to see someone care. I was in PE for a few days around Christmas and spent 2 mornings spinning at Swartkops mouth. I was dissapointed to see several dead Electrics, a dead(mutilated) hammerhead at the base of the bridge and a smoothound that had marks on it's back suggesting it had not survived after being used as a swimbait.

On a less disturbing not I also stood on an electric and even though I had wetsuite booties on I still felt a bit of current through the top of my foot!!

I stepped on a electric close to that bridge when I was looking for mullets with a thrownet. I walked on water back to the bank.
