Robben was dead. Water very clean in most parts and "warmed up" to around 14 degrees as the morning progressed. Found sterretjies working nicely along the kelp line to the west of the island but no sign of fish breaking the surface and spinners from all 3 of us produced nothing. Seems like a bit of baitfish all around but no predators. We were off the water by 1 and heard other boats got only hotties and 1 boat got 2 snoek off sandy bay. long way to go for 2 snoek.

Very dissapointing. We were really looking forward to some fish but not interested in Hotties. Its been awhile now for me because of work.

Ja Patrick, times are hard, but on the plus side, I had a look at my records and in February 2002 there was a lot of snoek at Millers Point in cold water, three days later the water had warmed up and I got 8 yellowtail in Buffels Bay, so we can only hope.

Ai tog Patrick and Mr. E , sorry to hear about the blanks... I had to work, but I was itching to get onto the water.

I really thought that you guys might get something this morning. Sounds like the snoek is keeping a clear from Robben for a good 75 km radius. Millers and Dassen producing again. Hopefully 2011 will be a better year for Robben.

I might just try a afternoon trip to Blinkklip en die Blokhuis area later in the week...

Ons het gister weer met vriende na Dasseneiland gegaan en lekker snoek op die ddivers gevang. Natgereen maar dit baie geniet. Dit was vir my BAIE snaaks dat tot van die comm manne vir snoek begin troll het ! Nog nooit so iets baie Yzer gesien nie ! Anyway, die kreef het ook lekker geklim en baie goeie sizes is gou uitgehaal. Hier is my dogter Liana met twee krewe van net onder die 120mm

Hey Etienne, i saw you guys out there trolling in the fog. Bummer that you also blanked.

Was just good to get Kristie back on the water after a few months layoff. Unfortunately the bracket holding the transducer somehow broke off so we couldn't search for fish on the finder. Ah well. The Wellies and coke at the club eased the pain of our dissapointment.

Water was cold. Seems there will be some more oppurtunity this weekend.

For me the red fish taste the best. Behind Rockcod and Grunter.

That net had 20 crays in it. 15 were size, and we were 4 on the boat. Sure was a quick session.

We fished 3 nets, and had 26 size after each net had been pulled once! That after the 1st net had only 2 crays in it!! The 2 nets after that both looked like the picture posted. What a day.

Will be interesting to see who thinks where thay were caught.
