Can anyone help me with a fly pattern to to imitate the following shrimp (image). I caught them in Richardsbay harbour. Kingies and perch are smashing them and i just cant seem to get a strike. i have tried crazy charlies but no luck.

I have just started to tie my own flies, a link to a page with a step by step guide will be helpfull.

For those glass swimming shrimp, I reckon something like the Bob Popovic Ultra Shrimp with a slight twist to match the local colour/shape etc could be perfect.....

I'll try find a link for you.... If you do a Google search for Shrimp patterns, you should find plenty.... glass/swimming shrimp are fairly easy to immitate, and because they are also the most commonly found types in the US, there are 100's of patterns for immitating them... Our local sand and mud prawns are a little tougher....

I'll see if I can find a link for you..

I've got a few others vid's at home of some nice patterns. Will post them if I get a chance.

Have you ever tried fly-fishing for yellows. I've had a lovely weekend at the Vaal. Caught 47 fish for the weekend. Including 4 large-mouth yellows and a smallmouth of over 4 kg's. Pure magic. All of them are busy getting bigger till next time I am there.
