For the guys that could remember I mentioned a while back of starting up my own bass venue in Gauteng.  Now the bass venue is on the roll and things are looking good. Now my question I have is what the guys would pay up this side to fish for smallmouth. Cape Town is a far place to travel to just to try and get some decent smallmouth. Now the one dam will be stocked with smallies from 1kg up to a couple way over 2kg’s. We are going to try and stock with smallies from 1.5kg and up but will see what can be supplied to me. Now we were thinking of charging R50 per day for largemouth fishing. And that dam will also be stocked with some decent large mouth. And then the smallmouth dam we were thinking of charging R150 for half a day. Now the thing is that the smallie dam will be on appointment only and there will be a limit in place to how many people can fish the dam. There will be two dams stocked with smallies so there will be proper management in place to manage the dams so that we don’t have the same problems as Vasfontein. Dams will be rotated every two months.

Our aim is to get two dams up first so that fishing can start and then from there build more dams and the guest house plus the wedding venue.

Our aim is also to have a dam for day visitors and then a dam for guests from the guest house. So then there can be No complaining between guests and day visitors

Awsome stuff!!!Good luck johan...just one question, why just half day on the smallie dam??

Will rather have a small group fishing the dam at the same time and then just allow 2 sessions per day. It pees me of when you trying to fish a spot and you get a fish and all of a sudden there are 30 people fishing that same spot and just casting all over the show spooking the fish. So smaller groups will allow for more pleasurable fishing and not over crowding

Well if its secure place to fish , i think i will pay what ever is asked for. i will pay Up to R150 for a Day Largemouth. If its nice fishi's , because we paid if i remember correctly R150 per person at Basslake Last month and we only caught fish that weighed less than a kilo, and i thought that was worth the money .

It will be very secure. It will be a place you can bring your whole family and there will be something to do for everyone. From your wife to your children. Our aim is to have our dams stocked with largemouth fish all over a kilo to as big as i can get. But there are spawn and all that, that needs to be taken in to consideration. We will try and remove some of the small fish. But it will never get as bad as what basslake is.
