About three years ago I fished off the rocks at Big Bay, Blouberg for Galjoen. Had White Mussel as bait. Got funny pulls and eventually struck. Caught fairly large Crayfish!

The other one was less fortunate. Caught an extremely small Blaasoppie (Blowfish?)at Macasser some two months ago on a 10/0 hook baited with whole a whole Mackrel for shark. Wasn't even foul hooked. had the bloody hook through his mouth! The little bastard was actually going for the mackrel twice its size!

A friend told me that his brother once caught a pilchard( west coast sardine and not red eye sardine) in the mouth at Ansteys beach ( not foul hooked/jigged) during the annual sardine run whilst fishing for gulley fish near a shoal of sardines whilst using sardine bait  - I didnt believe him untill I twice witnessed with my own eyes the feat being repeated on two seperate subsequent occasions at Cutting beach by an angler ( Sathie) who set out to prove to me that such is not a freak occurence i.e. sardines eat sardine bait.
