@Bennie Jordaan- Hi Bennie, it is fun, just keeping the fitness levels up so the youngsters can't drill you is the only kak thing.

@ Siemen- Hi Siemen, I am actually training a whole lot of rescue swimmers on thursday afternoon and friday using the shorthaul technique as in you pic. this is was happens when it goes wrong and you get dynamic roll-over!

Looks like that fling-wing beat itself to death?

They are quite tricky to fly but very rewarding when you get it right.

I did a rather large project in Nigeria and the okes tuned me don't go. I said bull twang and went. First off was bribary just to get me out of the airport with my luggage and while in the Landie ready to roll a bloke with an AK rocks up at the window and says... Sir, it's getting late, we going to have to move. 3 security vehicles, 1 at the back and 2 at the front with a bunch of guys hanging out the windows with all sorts ready to clap anyone who doesn't move out the way. And 1 or 2 actually did. Scary first trip!

Been there 5 times since on business and I must say it has relaxed a lot.

Uncle Bob-you are a lucky man to walk away from that and tell the story.

Had a near miss with a Hewie in Nigeria last year.. Same project only used for equipment outlay. Ran out of air on a hight of 200ft and came down directly over 55o oooV ( live ) luckily stabilized aprox 3m above the line, had to to some crafty footwork to get the equipment untangled

Stringing OPGW.

Not a bad place at all. In my books the friendliest people in Africa.

These body guard were a great help with doing crowd control. In the areas we worked they still use the barter system, so remote they are. Now land with a chopper there and they run like crazy. When they see you will do them no harm, that's when they crowd you --actually to greet you.

Just stay out of Lagos if you don't have a couple of AK's to back you.

That's the difference, I was in Logos. But I must say that in my last trip there, I walked around freely.
