What's your job?

It isn't every day we get to show off what we do. I know I have posted before but here is some pics.
This is the airport in Onjiva - Angola. We built the entire departures including scales and baggage sorting as well as the baggage carrousels in the arrival hall.

Here is the check in system. Still just installed and building work was going on around us, so it is a little dusty.

I have a few jobs. only one that pays in rands and cents (sometimes) and that is being an estate agent and small time developer in plett.

the other more important jobs are:

training officer NSRI Plett

Air Sea Rescue rescue swimmer (chopper jumper or dope on a rope) qualified as per US coast guard standards. current on Oryx, Lynx, BK117, bell, Augusta 109, squirrel.

Manage sea rescue side of the ams rescue helicopter in Southern Cape

also host a fishing show on local radio station on Fridays.

SysAdmin on UNIX - Solaris & AIX. Basically I look after servers that run your Enterprise Applications. We do everything from Installations to backups to a certian degree of storage management to Troubleshooting & Scripting....HUGE environment. Feel like it's time for a Change though....

I am a Geologist by studies but currently work as a Analytical Mineralogist in the diamond industry. We analyse and evaluate diamond indicator minerals and are able to tell from their chemistry the potential for a kimberlite to be diamond bearing.

I worked for an Antwerp diamond company based in Jhb for a while. Buying and selling rough. I never stayed long. Sitting in an office was too boring but I did enjoy going to see the diggers in Wolmaranstad etc.
