Ja,those creatures are strong if you catch them on lighter tackle. They dont just give up,it took me about a our to land it,pulling hard on a 12wt.Even with 50lb tippet they take a long time to land.I will go look for some jumpy pics!!

And this is one of my Dorado. About 1.2m long (I am 1,75m tall). It only weighed 12kg. We put it on the scales. On the same day, Nico got one that was probably 1,2m long but weighed 13kg.

A man with outstretched arms equals his height, in other words the distance in length between his hands ie: 1,75m will be his height give or take a cm or 2. So by judging the guy in red clothing he is about 1.75m, so no way that fish measures 1.3m!

Hi guys, came across something interesting....

below is Wayne's record catch submission for the Dorado he caught off the oil rig in Angola. He estimated the length to be 1.3m... looking at that pic, it looks BIGGER than that. Nevertheless, from the ORI tables, Fork length is the determining factor, so if we estimate FL to be 120cm (and thats a conservative estimate!) and have a look at the ORI tables for the weight... it comes out at 46 kg.

Guess what the SA record is.... only 31kg! His catch klaps the record by 14-15 kg!

I scheme thats quite impressive for a handline and a porterhouse steak!!!:clap12
