Howzit guys, just thinking about the Ultimate Fishing Kit has got me drooling...

I would agree with Volcom on the Assasin Med with a heavy tip, but will add a 400/0 custom built/ Assasin lite for the small edibles, cos i enjoy the fight and dont like to just crank a 3-5kg edible out, i enjoy giving a fish a fighting chance...

Well reels, i would have to say a Saltiga 50 and 30, spooled with braid and Siglon on both reels...

Dropshot, again, a Berkley series 7ft, and a Diawa Exceler3000, spooled with Berkley whiplash, and every type of Berkley lure available, all put into one of those Berkley shoulder strap bag jobbies.

And tackle, well i have most of what i want, but wouldnt mind a lifetime supply of every type of Gamakatsu hook ever produced, cos i swear by these hooks, they are ultra sharp, and i havent missed a hook-up when using these hooks... Just as a matter of interest, does anyone else use these hooks??? Oh and i almost forgot, an 18L Safari Chiller, cos i'm shopping around for one but cant get it, so if god is listening, please find one for me...

So all in all thats what i would retire with...

And guys do you notice how ESA has changed the fishing perspective??? Its got us spending so much of money!!!! Do you agree???

Cheers

its easy to find the R1000 , just give up one of ur vices for 2-3 mths and u can have a new rod.

i quit smoking 1.5 years ago , thats a saving of R700 a mth alone. So u do that math and see how much of fishing tackle u can buy with the money.

Is the beach master a 14 ft or a12.6 ft , will it combine nicely with  slh30??

The Beachmaster is a 14ft rod, is way too big for a sl30. You need a size 50 reel to go with this rod. It is rated to throwing 8oz sinkers, and I have thrown 10oz with it before. It comes with Heavy and medium tips and you can get it with a trigger grip too. Excellent value for money....

@JACE , yes i am married , u see thats the whole problem , when some1 gives up a vice , mine was smoking , i didnt let my "smoking money" get absorbed into my household duties.

I said to myself the day i quit smoking , i wanna be able to show for it , so from the beginning , i put the money aside into a special savings account ,  so far i have bought me  14ft rod with reel for the surf , 2k , new bass rod n reel , 1.1k
During december when the wife bought me the surf bag i bought other tackle for abt R500 -R600 bucks and the wife bought me dstv as a present of which i pay the subs with the money that used to be for smoking , So its all abt the discipline if u ask me.

@reef okies so i should get me another slh50 then , the thing is i cant justify spending 3k on just a rod cos i dont fish as often as the guys that live at the coast, but i fish wanna be able to have confidence in my outfit, if that makes sense.

@ nov no probs boet.

Hey Reef, i stand to be corrected, but i fish with a 14ft graphite, custom built 400/0, so its got alot of whip, and i get a real decent throw with my sl30, actually it throws much better than with my sl50 on a stiffer stick... I always thought that an sl30 and a 14ft lite stick, would be the best bet for a distance throw... so u say that a 13ft lite would give me a better throw, i need to test that theory out!!!
