Die man verdien n medalje vir probeer.

Following the news from Oomfaan of Snoek off Melkbos, we decided to run there yesterday morning. We had motor problems the whole day, a fuel starvation issue i think, having it checked out today. So we ran to Sea Point instead, and found some marks on the echo, and put in the pick. The fish were skelm, and teh seals were lastig ! We managed 4 Snoek before an ealry run home. A very poor days fishing, but Im sure we would have done well if we got there early, or if we made it to the area off Melkbos.RB

Launched very late yesterday and caned the snoek in Buffels from about 15h30 to sunset. Have been ill so I thought we would not go. After staring out the window for a few hours I couldn't handle it anymore and by 11h00 we decided to go fill up the Ghostrider. Got to the parking lot and couldn't find parking, had to park at the club grounds.

Saw the boats closer to the slipway off the club but I've never had good fish there in the afternoon, so I just ran by, put pick and waited for the crowd to leave. As soon as they were all just about gone, upped anchor and moved to where I wanted to be andchored.
Saw a lot of guys on paddle ski's out.

Really good size fish. The lighties had a blast and Matt managed to get a new piercing in the arm from a spike on a shark. We fell 2 fish short of our allowed 50 for the 5 on board.
Most on the baits at first and then when we were alone I chummed up a frenzy and we played tug of war with the seals.

Left Buffells as the sun went down and the light all came on at land. Got back to an empty parking lot in the dark. Awesome sea afternoon and a jol with the old man and lighties.

Oom Faan we need more info. How far off melkbos did you get the snoek and guys is this normal to get snoek off melkbos when they are in Cape Town ?

I usually drive to Buffels for snoek of the kayak, but melkbos is about 40 min's drive closer for me.

Only problem is that when the snoek isn't in buffels I can always get a roman or chokka, where there is just a few hotties this time of the year in melkbos.

One of THOSE days for us on Saturday in Buffels, one on - off after the other. The fish would make the line straight, one or two pulls and off. Smokkeling with our heads - tried bigger baits, smaller baits, tip of the hook, etc. No difference.
Ended up with 15 fish, small blessing in that vlekking and cleaning was over quickly.

My fish goes to the needy, we don't fleck it, as the kitchens make use of every bit they can use.

Breeds, the fish was biting like that yesterday too. We lost a lot of fish like that. Only once the bay was quiet and we chummed up a storm did they start to eat with any form of excitement.

you guys have to keep a eye out on the water, one of the commercials klapped a whale in false bay yesterday, skipper was thrown out of the boat and two crew are apparently in hospital with broken arm and collar bone!

sorry, got the wrong end of the stick here, this happened in stompneus bay and not false bay!

a little birdie just called me to say that the snoek are busy biting!!
