Compliments to all for the new year.
Well here is my findings. 5 casts per rod
All casts done using a Shimano 8000gte with 0.18 Awa-shima Super Cast line with a 0.4 King fisher leader and a m2
13ft Pond Master – 138m All 5 casts was between 135m and 138m
13ft Torpedo mk2 – 132m
13ft Bazooka – 144m
13ft Blue marlin Electra – 142m
12ft Awa-shima Outlaw 3lb test curve – 151m fist cast
All casts done using a Shimano 8000gte with 0.18 Awa-shima Super Cast line with a 0.4 King fisher leader and a P4
12ft Awa-shima V-max Spod 5lb test curve – 174m and the worst was 168m
13ft Bazooka – 164m

I must say I am still in love with my pond masters even with the distance I gat from them.
They are so light that I would be able to cast with them the whole day.
And I must say the v-max spod is a brilliant rod that I just need to get use to.
With a bit more time lots more meters can be added to that rod.

Naruto is your bazooka a 12ft or 13ft?
The reason I ask is because I tried a p2 on my 13ft and got good distance. But my Pen mate (my dad) tried the same
With his 12ft and last a lot of distance between a p2 and p3. I think the 13ft is not as stiff as the 12ft…….Not sure but that’s

The Bazooka, (12'), is not for small weights. I built a "Baby Shoes" with a M1 weight. Every time the bomb would come off. I then increased the weight to a M3. No problems, and good distance. You really need to load that rod to get performance out if it.
It does'nt really bother me, because i use this rod for Specimen, where i normally use 3-4oz weights.
The "Baby Shoes" was just a test.
I even tried spodding with it. Good distance, but i don't know if it will last, casting 150-200g weights.

Guys the casting ability of the rod is obviously important but a balance between casting, playing fish and you own fishing style all need to be considered.
My favourite all round rods my T53 13' G2 rods, custom built they fish a M1 to a 112gr distance lead and can cast a rocket to 100m. I use them in all facets of Angling and Max out at 185m with the rods but can cast a M1 with feed to 130m
My long range rod is the 3 piece Awa-Shima Skycaster. It casts a 112gr weight on 0.20mm line to 207m measured and on the league final I fished a line clip at 165m with an M1. I don't fish with them a lot but in competitions I have made the most valuable points of all with them - ie 2009 Trials I caught 100% of my fish with them and at the Nationals 2009 I landed 95% of my fish on them
For specimen fishing I fish 13' Prophets that have been modified with Fuji Low Rider guides (as on Tribal) and fish them with confidence from 30m to 130m. During the 2008 Trials Marius and I landed 564 fish out of 567 bites for a total of 1194.8kg they are built for playing fish and not long range casting
With the 5lbs VMax with a big Pit and 30lbs braid I can spod on a line clip at 140m and with a 4oz weight I can get up to 200m with 0.12mm braid. I would use the Skycasters but in Carp comps we are limited to 12'
For short range fishing I fish my Blue Marlin 10' Magnaflex rebuilt with shorter butt and new guides (and placing) although my son will swear by his SeaBass 10'
If I had to choose a single rod for casting and fishing I would go either with the Blue Marling T53 12' or the new AfriCast 12' 3.5lbs that I designed to give the same characteristics as the 13' but in a more affordable range.
@ AMG1, Badie and Marius Rusch are fishing full time with these rods now.

Misguide has these rods (12')and we test casted them at Arabie late last year.
They are light, well priced and with an extremely fast action.
With an M0 I was able to cast a consistent 124m and with a P4 a consitant 160m. I like the rod for casting but I don't like the action and I don't feel comfortable with the rod.
It needs a very HARD cast with a strong leader and not everyone is going to get casting right with the rod.
