I would love two T53 13' G2 rods but they are pricey. But I should probably
just look at them as a investment. And think of the fact that they can replace
at least 3 of my other rods.
I had a go with Uncle Pieters Skycaster this weekend and that is one vicious rod.
First go 192m with a p4 and .20 awa-shima line.

The first batch of the AfriCast Competition 360 landed last week and are sold out.
The next batch is landing in a sea freight and should be available next week.
Those red rods with such tiny guides are awesome casting machines but way pricey. But then again my top achievements in the past 3 years were all as a result of those rods. I caught when the others watched.
They cast from a M0 with a bol to a 5oz with a small bol.

Op hierdie stadium worry ek nie so kwaai oor die stokke nie, sal met my seuntjie van 3 se lucky packet rod vang net om by die water te wees. Gaan darem die naweek rivier toe (Vrydag en Saterdag) oh ja en ek is op verlof.
Ek hengel lekker met my 2 Loomis Carp rods (13 FT) Is seker tyd om te upgrade, maar die twee stokke het my nog net plesier verskaf en ek kom oor die 100 meter merk.Wil jy jou stokke gebruik vir kompetisies of sommer net lekker social?
My Sensation Carp Killer rods (10Ft) seker so 5 jaar gelede gekoop gee my ook goeie diens.
Ek dink dit gaan oor wat vir jou werk, want ek het al verder gecast met daai twee stokke as ouens met hulle stokke van duisende rande.
Ek moet ook bieg.....Dis altyd lekker om die beste, nuwe gear te koop.

Interesting topig chaps.. as this is the question that has been keeping me up for the past year.. my quest to find the best combo... which begs the question..
SZurely its not the rods but the overall setup.. ??
I stated with 14ft loomis & F rods with two magnum sports.. i soon moved to thinner line.. this helped.. i then discovered a leader does help(12).. I then discovered a thicker leader helps even more. (17lb).. i then got shimanos DL6000.. did not get the distance i hoped for and went for new rods .. got the bazookas 13ft... better but something was not right.. then relaised the reels were "dragging" line on the cast.. and sold them and got me some GTE C 8000... so.. my concern is ..
there is a relationship between the spool size and the eye (guides) size.. if so what is the reasoning behind this.. ??
Enigma please put me outa my misery .. is there an ideal rod for a certain reel and if so what is .. best reel for the Bazooka 13ft and/or what is the best rod for th shimano 8000 gte-c's ??
Oh i use.. 7lb light green(or yellow) XX main line and 17lb Leader XX(dark brown)

I still like my Skycasters and it would just be wasting money to go get the Alpha rods now.
