Rod storage at home

I've used 21mm ply, cut maybe 40mm wide and as long as you need, for how ever many rods you have. Drill 8mm dowel facing slightly erect (most descriptive word, sorry) so the rods don't roll off. Glue dowels in and make one mounting hole 1/3rd from the top. Presto, rods rack.

If you have long surf robs, rather buy a length of dowel and cut to fit thinker robs. If you have a full wall spare of course. My surf rod is hanging from the rathers from my pencil bait wires/draad. Could also make a proper bracket to hand from.

Because all the rods have a reel, horizontal storage is not the way to go for me, as it puts a slight bend in the rod and they are so bottom heavy. Especially the off shore rods as the reels are heavy. Taking the reels off is not an option as there is just too many hippo clips and fastening plates that have to be put on and taken off.

Wow, some awesome organising ideas guys, thanks for sharing. I'll have to get cracking on sorting my stuff a bit better...I fear that if I don't do something soon, I may well slip deeper into the Obsession approach!!!:hyst:

This is what I use in my garage. High dense foam, which doesnt scratch your rod. Easy to install. Last time I saw it at Hook Line Sinker locally.

I am so glad I am not the only one, there are others like me out there, it is a terrible addiction. My whole garage is a fishing room, floors are tiled and the cars park outside.

I have a similar arrangement to HT and prefer to keep all the rods standing up vertical.
