HI MUSSEL_CRACKER,

:welcomesea:

Please update your location

One or two questions:

Are you thinking of getting a spinning reel or multiplier?

Where do you intend to do most of your fishing?

I do not know the prices now, but a good match is  an assassin beachmasterand shimano toruim --
Or what about the beachmaster rather with a Saltist 40 or 50 ... :dude: ... ... ...::pop: Just kidding, Shimano vs Daiwa, it's down to personal choice. They're much of a muchness but you won't go wrong with the beachmaster.

:SSS

go check out this month stywe lyne / tight lines, a lot of chistmas special.

mias / ganis is having a combo special shimano exage ( incl 3 tips ) / daiwa saltist 50 for +/- R 2,500.

i think thats a good deal as the reel brand new is about R 1,600.

Darren, Zimbi has the Exage 4 -6 oz with a Torium 30(if I remember right), good combo that, have a couple of thows with it and then take it from there.

if you gonna go for a HMG rod, for that money you will only buy a rod.

Oh jeez just realised that this mussel cracker in not THEE mussel cracker.............we have an imposter:fbash

I was also confused there for a while, was wondering how Darren managed to wipe

all his posts and start from 1 again, HaHa

I would also recamend the beach master, but go for the Bronze series, same blank but better guides (Fuji) I think.

Thanks for all the feedback, iam a beginner, sorry bout username. When i started fishing in april all i heard everyone speaking about was catching a mussel cracker and thats how i chose my username. Iam very new to fishing, i currently have a coffeegrinder and a little cheap rod. was thinking of getting the exage rod and a saltist. will mostly be catching at false bay and hopefully hook up with some of the sealiners to learn more.

Hope you catch lots of fish and you learn alot on this forum... I would go with a Saltist/Kingfisher Stimulator or Penn Powerstick 14" very good rods that have caught alot of good edibles!

Very good choice I would say.
I bought myself that combo today at fishing specialist for R2500.
I just took the Torium 30. As they say it has a bigger spool and is the same price.
Torium R1425
Exage R1075
Can not wait to get to the water ::S::S:fishn
