Ok, so we managed to convince the bosses that we wanna go and wet a line at Morgenzon Dam, seeing that the river is in flood and that there's some nice water just below the keerwal.
we left at 14h00 and arrived at the dam just b4 15h00.
I started chucking my salmo hornet 4(bluegill) into the quiet water and then just let it drift into the current, and BAM, fish on..... So i went on quickly catching 4.
Then i shifted over to my quest for the sharptooth cat on lure, i was chucking lures for another hour or so.... nothing, nada, niks...........
Vleisvreter(anthony) was still catching yellows on spinner and made up a tally of 23!!! He also had a rod out for barbel with bait.... He had one run, then niks and so it went on.
I later decided i'm also gonna try this, and used a 5ft lightweight boat rod and an SL30 to cast my bait out. I put it in a nice spot and within 5 minutes had a huge run!!!!!! Fish got stuck and my .6mm trace broke off.... I messed around some more, catching a yellow or two and then retied my trace and put another bait out, this time using one of the 3 fisheagles we shot earlier..... just kidding.. LOL... waited quite some time but still nothing... then moved the bait a bit and 5 minutes.... GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR goes my ratchit, FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!! after a lekker fight i got my biggest babrel of 5kgs! I was in the clouds! After removing the hooks guess what was still stuck in it's mouth... my previous trace! Couldnt believe that! So i sorted Anthony out with one of my magic traces and he also got a nice one of 6kgs. I lost another one due to my line parting when i made vas!
We where quite eager to fish some more, but we where facing some serious beating from angry wifes.....
Tally at the end of the day:
Deon : 12 yellows and 1 barbel
Anthony: 23 yellows and 1 barbel

40kgs and that you need to send your scale in for calibration.....................
