Not that mutch. The only problem I have now is the Bronzies at Gamtoos. They eat the bluddy hook.

the elf will bite the trace off this way so you would not be able to rig it with the trace in the mouth or you would have to add steel...

You can use the same rig. but have to change the way you hook the mullet or in this case the Elf.

You will start from the tale to the middle fin. Sorry for only replying now. Will try and get n photo for you.

And yes if you get bitten off. Use steel.

nice stuff pasta. just wanted you guys to know that the garrick and king fish are coming out thick and fast at st.lucia but towards the umfolozi river (about a 15-20min walk to the right of entering) yesterday around 20 garrick came out but im sure ita actually alot more than that. they have been taking extremely well on live shad and fishing conditions have been nothing less than perfect! they also been taking on repallas and spoons but the guys that usually did hook into them like that have been getting absolutely smoked! honestly if you have the opportunity, get down there! i enjoyed every second! a bit of advice use around a 4-5 oz grapnel (alot of the guys have been having the problem of bringing them over the banks,if you faith in your leader then go for it), depending if conditions permit you, but lately no winds or swells that where 2 big just all round smiles lol. happy fishing! its christmas in st.lucia allready

apologies but i'm really new at this...

the bait used for the Kob and Garrick, does it have to be live mullet?

Nope !! Dead bait if as fresh as possible , can also work.

Live bait just so much better ,but difficult to get and keep alive with the beach ban !!!!

Cool thanks Pasta, gonna give this a bash tonight... I'm fishing for Kob and Leeries here in Groot Brak in the lagoon - has anyone here have any luck recently....

Would it be fine to use the same trace but with only one swivel and small sliding sinker (I've got a 7ft river setup) and also adding a extra sliding hook??

Went last night and got a few short runs on live mullet +- 10cm, drag would go off but soon after line goes pap? Any reasons for this...

Thanks Again

Between the 5 guys’s that caught with the same trace, we caught 6 Leries and 1 Cob. All fish bag limits was contained per person.
