No, I was just stating matter of fact. The fact that they are brushless means it should last VERY long. The only weak point would be the bearings, considering that indredible high RPM.

My dad still has a bait boat that he inherited from his dad. Takes a 12v car battery. You have to reel it in after every delivery. We have never used it on the water although we have checked that it still works. I think I am going to convince my dad that we take it along just to test it.

Sorry guys, but there is something special about the Nite Hawk! It's not only the fantastic sound of a reel run, but also, the magic feeling of no gears between you and the fish.

I'm an old school Carper, but have mixed it with some of the best, both here and in the UK and my 11 year old centre pins still do the magic!

Old interesting post that I only saw now. I have to agree with Trophy 100% Nothing beet the old centre pin reel. When playing a big fish. I still use my old Jecta's before anything ells .

When I still fished competatively in the early 90's there were no baitrunners and no 2-piece rods.

You had a rod-rack.Suction cups came later.Yuo put them on the car's roof and off you go.Just make sure you strap them down properly, otherwise you end up crying next to the road in Rosslynn with 2 x 8ft and 2x7ft Blue Marlins instead of 2 x 15ftrs.

If you fish competatively these days you cant go without Baitrunners. You cant fish the same tempo with centre pins.

But if you've ever heard the sound of a Night Hawk or Orlando or Magnum in full song you will never look at any coffee grinder the same.

I have both, and I fish the Baitrunners more often then the Night Hawk's,but thats only because Baitrunners have made me lazy....;-)

Die knoppie se "on/off".Dis nie 'n versiering nie.....

Nothing beats the sound of a Magnum screaming ;)

I agree with the posts so far, baitrunners easier but night hawks are so much fun. That sound gets me running even if I'm far away in lala land.

Both my PB carp and barbel caught on night hawks.. carp 19Ibs and barbel 18kg.. Might ship my old night hawks over and give them a go on my specimen gear  :fbash
