Hi there guys!

Afew of us went down to the pier yesterday and had some success.

Jonah Daniel of sealine managed a nice sized grunter of about 2kg.

Rickky Pillay managed a small kingie of approx 2-3kg which was tagged and released.

Lance Pillay caught a nice size springer of 6kg which was also tagged and released.

Another angler known only as imraan from phoenix caght a rock salmon and about 4 eels.Conditions were verry good except for a heavy drift on the out going water and with that came the dirt and floating debris.The water was an off green colour but was as flat as a table top.

Towards the evening the spinner sharks started going mad and we had some good fun with them on light tackle,and from what i here a smallish skate was also taken on the forhead.

Good to see some decent fish being caught after some horrid sea conditions.

What tackle & baits used?? Also at what time were they caught??

Jonah was using an sl30 and a beachmaster

Rickky Pillay used beachmaster and grandwave 50

Imraan was using a kp and a unknown rod

I used a assasin light sl30

Hi Riymos,

North Pier is most probably the 1st place on the coast line to "come right" after heavy seas. I recall often often after heavy seas the greys coming alive, also off the beach at Vetchies.

Good to see my old HQ still operating.

Regarding those small sharks.....anybody still doing swim baiting? I used swim fish often there back in the day.....Zambezi Alley!

well yeah those greys were on fire and yes i think a couple of guys still do swim them

i remember i think last year two guys hook into a zamby which got caught on the rocks.the two of them waited till morning to get it out and in the process they let the dam shark die.

not a verry proud moment if you ask me but hey they intitled do as they please.

anyway how have you been since ur trip wats the latest on you hmg

are they gonna replace it or repair or what
