nice splasher - well done - just arrived back in EL from a few days in PE - managed to get two sessions in at the old hunting grounds - was quickly reminded just how fantastic the swartkops can be - good times

So whats happening guys.
No one got airtime to chat ;)
I see some hectic weather on its way this weekend. But hey the wind doesnt blow under the water :)

Thought while i had a chance i would share some pics from the past few days.
Theres been some skips around so those wanting to catch one it seems we might have a good summer so lets hope it does not get as warm as last year.
One of the skips i got. Man it took off like they supposed to. Nothing like a screaming drag.

And this is why i love my crucials. Look at this bend! To feel a fish taking line at speed is just a great feeling

Also managed to get an acoustic tag into this leery. Dam the fading light did not help getting the stitches in but got it done in safe time and the little guy swam away strong. So can not wait to see where it wonders around the next few years. The tags battery life should last upto 4 years.

Then one of my favorite lures doing its magic again. This grunt hit the flutter stick untill it got hooked up. At first i could not understand what was going on :)

Went paddling for some exercise a couple of days ago.

Saw a bow wave form a few meters to the left and ahead of me, with a wake larger than that of my kayak!
It turned out to be a MASSIVE cob, cruising in water no deeper than 2ft over the sandbank.

Lesson: NEVER leave your rod at home...

Lol. Happened to me a few years ago when you could still launch at Redhouse. Went down early morning with a friend to test his new boat. Left the rods at home. Wanted to cry when shortly after we launched the water literally started boiling. As far as I could see up river and all the way to brickfields was just chaos. Leerie just about landing in the boat as u drive,smashing into bait balls all around u. Will probibly never see that on that scale ever again. From that day I swore never to be without a rod on the boat again. They get loaded before the safety equipment.

Guys I am in PE for business end of next week. Conditions permitting would it be worth throwing a plug or spoon off Brighton pier or those dolosse? Would there be some shad or Garrick around or are there better surf/rock spinning spots? Thanks!!

Shot for the heads up on the catches guys. Ja summer is coming. Can not wait for those long evening sessions into dark. Nothing like getting home before 8pm and its still light.
