Hi all, let me start at the beginning. While renewing my annual boat permit I met this guy working for Parks board. He is very passionate about his work and even gave me his personal cell number. I have phoned him a couple of times when I see something going on and they responded every time.
This late afternoon I looked at the lagoon and saw 2 guys digging for worms with garden forks. For those of you who don't know, these forks destroy everything and will leave the shore dead and looking like the moon's surface. It takes a long time to recover if at all. Anyway, I reported this incident to my contact at 17:40 (after hours). He send me a sms at 17:45 that they were on the way. I kept him informed via sms and at 17:55 I saw the parks board RIB screaming towards the culprits who by now got into a row boat and headed for the far bank. They left my line of sight but at about 18:15 I saw the RIB tow the row boat back to the harbour. My contact said he will keep me informed on what happened. All I want to say is well done guys, you have earned all my respect today. I will pay them a visit tomorrow and have a chat to their boss. ::respekt:::respekt:
