But shimano should make the saragosa in a 30000

The new Saragosa SW models which are being released at ICAST this week are going all the way up to 25000 size, and looking to be priced around at around $400 USD for the biggest model... looks like they have done a major overhaul on this reel, and this could really provide a fantastic option for those looking for a top quality spinner, without the now ridiculous price tags on the Stellas/Saltigas etc...

I'm keen to see what this new Saragosa is like..

Howsit Cam. You guys got any of those new Gosas in the shop yet?

Not yet I've only had the prototypes on my boat and we had some nice fish on them not sure what the pricing structure will be like in SA but if it's similar to the old one it'll be worth the money for sure.

An interesting rather unflattering review from Alan Hawk.. might be wise to stick with the 08 stella

I have read about it , it looks like some short cuts and material saving got there.
That rotor play is actually embarrassing for a 1000 + USD reel. You get that on 25 USD reels. How does that pass the QC who knows ,  or maybe they moved factory to China . Also main gear cannot be as durable as on earlier model.
I have old Stella 2005 , I did not use it much but inside no wear at all - still old good heavy duty gears.

Alan has updated his news page and said that Shimano Australia have finally admitted to the problem after lots of pressure on their Facebook page from users and that Japan have noted the review and looking into the issues raised. Looks like no one is immune to cost cutting measures these days..

No more real quality , Even Zeebaas moved to China. I don't know if you read Allans review on TEBEN SEA 20000 - copy of old Stella. I spoke to manufacturer and they upgraded reel as Alan suggested but not all,  Bail and drag washers and retining plate
You can buy it here - free shipping :

I will bring one and strip it and see how it looks - it is tempting for R 2200.00

Hello, this is my 30000 and it is truly a beast. Raggys and other large sharks barely take any line during the fight.
