you have it free sliding below the weight carrying hook and once you know the size if the bait you pinch it tight to stop the hook moving down and making your bait a banana. The nice thing is that you can loosen it again and change the hook settings if your next bait is a different size!
I don't use this method personally cause like i said i just make up all my slides the same. I do have one or two slides in my bag with extra distance between the hooks incase i have a HUGE bait to slide!!
I just make up my slides complete at home with aprox 20 - 30cm between the hooks. If my bait is much smaller there is just more slack between the hooks!

Hi, I see that you use Waft Iron Feathers - is that the big brother 13ft series if so how do rate the rod and in your opinion will it stand up to a big Raggie ?
most of the rods couldnt get past 17kgs....that is with extreme pulling force, where you feel your back is about to break. The iron feather pulled at 25kg no problem. Some guys reckon certain rods are made for pulling power mainly, but i disagree......a good rod should have both casting aswell as pulling power:cel: munro when you say you tested pulling power how did you do that - just curious

Howzit JP... here is one way of doing it....
