Hi Guys, Just got back from the boatyard this afternoon after working out that it is definitely my drain motor that drains the baitbox that is kaput. Since this is the pump that drains the baitbox, I am sure that  (unintentionally) , little pieces of fish, small bones, etc ... goes down these pipes. Surely this will cause the motor on that side to "labour" and eventually go faulty...?

This is what I can work ot logically so ... I am looking for advice on a stronger motor to install in the place of the standard one. Good makes please and where can I get them in Cape Town? I will fit it myself.

Rule makes a good solid pump. You can cover the bottem with some Chovy net to stop big peases from entering the pickup. You can get them from most boat dealers. You need not to buy the high capasity pumps. 25 galon a min wil be siviciant i think.

Dunno the capacity - it's a submersible bilge pump. Do you want to use it as a jet drive for your yak?? I've got some Marine batteries in my garage as well!

How did you guess...

Looking at building a live well (through System) for some mullet when fishing Langebaan and the point for tail. 
I reckon a live mullet (no not not who you are thinking of) will look quite tasty to a 15kg  Cape Point Y'tail.

I checked, it's a 1750 gal/h. You should be able to keep a bin full of yellowtail alive with that. Surely you can just put a net over a shopping basket or something?

I suppose but 1750gal/hour... sounds a lot more high tech... Plus what a perfect way to keep my catch fresh.. or better yet... imagine what i could catch with Yellowtail as live bait
