I use a Shimano Vengance heavy Tigerfish rod with a Loomis salt water bait caster and 30lb braid

its a 8ft rod lots of back bone fro the Garrick or Kob that may pick up.

I think i got +200m of 30lb Braid drag of 10lb i think cant remember off hand on there never been spooled, touch wood, unless a double digit Leerie picks you up i think its enough for the application.
