If you are looking for a replacement rod, the Blue Marlin Hurricane 9ft, S902HH is a well priced awesome rod for throwing a 1-2 oz spoon. I got mine from Sportcentre in George.

Thanks Spool-Song,

I do not know that rod at all, how much does the BM Hurricane go for?
The last week I have been looking at all possible rods up to a R1000. I am now strongly considering buying a Sensation Dominator 9ft6 later today.

Any comments and opinions welcome.

That rod is apparently built on the same blank as my favourite light spinning stick, the 9'6" dominator that is, and apparently so go feel the rod but worth a look. The BM's are also nice rods, a mate fishes his 10ft as a medium stick and loves it. If you want a shorter rod also look at the sensation power plus rods, but that's all that I know personally in that range..

Okay so I just baught the Sensation Dominator 9ft 6.

One question... Do you guys take the plastic wrapping of the cork sections or leave it as long as it stays on ?

Ive heard you should take it off to prevent mould build up under the plastic...

So I took the Dominator for a test run at 18hoo. Shad was quiet with the weather coming in but I got 1. The rod throughs very nice and has good backbone.

Measured 48cm.

tried fishermans warehouse they dont have, old ballie with the grey hair and beard very unfriendly there. Wont go there again

tried cheapest fishing tackle, dont have. No stock.

excellent catch waterkind. What did you pay for the rod. Where did you get it?

Those sienna's are smooth. Im thinking of getting one;)

Hi Eddie , I got the Dominator from Stillfishing in Stilbay for R800 (great price).

Yes the Sienna is a great reel for the price you pay. Mine has proved itself over and over again.

And yes the Kingfisher 1 V "s are hard to find at moment. My personal stock is very low aswell.

I haven't tried that spoon yet but maybe I should. My go to lure for shad is the Abu Toby, or at the moment sensations knock off, the Sensation T-Spoon in sardine colour, that thing is deadly!

Those Kingfisher spoons the V series are available in 2 sizes ;
1V = 30g
2V = 40g

Only 2V available @ R65

I don't know if you prefer the lighter one (1V)

@WaterKind - the specifications on the Sienna indicate that it is primarily a freshwater reel. How long have you been using it for saltwater applications and is it still going strong?

Almost 2 years now. Weekly used. I only clean it monthly. Oil and silicone spray all over. As you can see its still in top condition.
