The problem with that area is that its relatively hidden away. There is also a garbage dump, that has its own population of people who rummage through the garbage. So, you have a considerable number of unsavoury characters in the area, everyday.........
Last time i was there, which was a few months back, the small outlet was completely overgrown with water hyacinths, and was impossible to fish. Just before the gate to the garbage dump is a turn off to the right. Its a gravel road that'll take you to some dams. 20kg class carp are caught here, mostly on fly!! The water is how-ever of a VERY poor quality, as its probably JUST been treated, so you're effectively fishing is just treated raw sewage water!! Your hands will burn when it gets wet from the fishing line!!
I fish a very nice spot, which'll be ideal for fly-fishing. Coming from the M5, towards Muizenberg, from Cape Town, turn left at the robots of 5th Avenue. There's a Nando's on your left at the traffic lights. Continue all the way down until you reach a large intersection. At the traffic lights, "Busy Corner" is on your right. Turn right here and continue until you get the road "Fishermans Walk", turn LEFT into Fishermans Walk. Travel a short way down this road and you'll see a big open field with a big un-finished house on your LEFT. This is the spot. You'll most likely see the guys fishing in front of this house....
Caught carp up to 10kg's here and its SAFE!!
