Hey Rob,

I'm happy with the launch time. Where would we be launching from? the beach? havnt done a beach launch yet :/ haha... If it looks too rough then I may find myself launching from the yacht club ^^.. (unless that is where you are already talking about) .

I am going to get my PFD today, are the ones from sportsmans warehouse okay? Also what hook size do you use out there? 3/0 && 4/0?

Just want to be 100% sorted when I hit the sea for the first time! Super Amped!! :kaykak:kaykak:kaykak:wfish:wfish

Hey R_x - Yep those pfd are fine, maybe give Nigel Louw a call. he has some nice pfd's as well and some other interesting kit.

Hook sizes we are looking at 4/o, 6/o and 8/o's. The best is to make up some traces before hand and then all you need to do is tie them on. Also depending on the current you can go up to 8once sinkers as well so have a couple, I use mainly 6 once sinkers. Remember to have rod and paddle leaches and most NB some safety equipment like flares and spare water and a water proof cell phone pouch as well.

Hey Rory
Yep Went out on Sat & Sun. Sat the weather was great, water was great, but the fishing was crap. Managed to hook into a small black and some barbels. Launched with Rage_X.
On Sun Lyall, myself and Gary luanched from Gonubs. The weather was blowing SE, but we expected a turn to SW during the morning. This resluted in an awesome 2-3 hrs of angling with zero wind. then the SW picked up at pace and we had to pull hard to make it back to Gonubs from Sunrise. The fishing was even worse than Sat, only two small rockcods came out with 6 Barra-buls and two size sharks. The sharks gave both myself and Lyall a good beating, but was fun!
All in all we had a great time end enjoyed the paddle.

Hope to see you guys on the water soon!

Thanks for the paddle Rob, it was awesome despite the seasickness that I was overcome with, definitely will be seeing the pharmacist this week for a couple tablets:p

Even though the fishing wasnt great I had stax of fun, :D Keen to hit the water again without the seasickness this time, and hopefully hook into a decent fish or two :D

Was thinking of hitting Gulu river early Sunday morning. Was there last Sunday without kayak and got some decent hits. Hopping to get a nice size kob or two. Anyone keen?

Hi Gareth
I am in Durban and often go to EL and would like to connect with the local guys. Have had to go on my own. Not lekker and also do not know the spots. Tried Yellows and north. Got 15kg DSKB off Kwelere - know the area well.
Cheers
Desmond
