K the weather bureau says that it's going to be the same tomorrow... cold... max temp 11'C. That we can handle... right? Keep warm by making a big fire and CHUCKING those leads!!

I'll be there for sure, unless it rains, which is highly unlikely...

I will also be there (as long as it doesn't rain). Cold in Centurion as well, went out to grab a bite and was 11Deg at 1:30pm.......crappy weather, don't handle cold like I used to.

What a day!!!!::S

Our day started in total panic, received SMS’s from Homie saying that it’s cold and windy, what to do? Half an hour later we got consensus, it’s a GO!

Everybody started arriving from about 10H00 onwards, when I got there Homie, Reefer, Royboy, Kumz and John were already casting their sinkers into the dam. John gave us a quick presentation on wire trace knots, including tying wire to nylon using the Albright knot.

Shortly after Royboy (lol, who apart from fishing can also talk an amazing lot of kak) started daring John to cast to the other side of the dam hitting one of the metal thatch roofs which he almost accomplished.

To me the highlight of the day was when we had a raffle, we all contributed R100, first price was a Daiwa SL50, second price was R300 cash, at first we thought the raffle was rigged so Mike’s wife was called in as an independent ‘auditor’ to do the draw, with Homie doing the supervising. Kathie took second price off R300 cash, first prize was then taken by none other than Reefer himself who received the reel, but not without receiving a lot of flack from everyone. We all know Reefer, he probably owns every reel there is to own; but he then graciously handed the SL50 over to Homie, who has been using a borrowed reed to get some multiplier experience. Hats off Reefer, this shows your character and what a noble person you really are……..:beer

Later on Reefer did an overhaul on Sharky2’s Saltist and upgraded it with some Carbontex drag washers……..afterwards it was a beautiful ting.

somewhere between all of this I completely missed the castnet demo's......probably pissing it up with Roy!

The rest off the day continued with some casting tuition and practice and off course the braai(supplied by Mike and Skrops)oh and Mike’s wife proved to out braai any man!, Mike she is a jewel!:merm

Big thumbs up to everyone who pitched. Sealine rocks!!!!!!!!!

Can’t wait for the next social!!!

Reefer will post some more pics once his electricity is sorted.

OK... Eishkom sorted...::S

Thanks for the Report Skropsie... all spot on and thanks to those who braved the weather... initially it was a bit cold, but it turned out rather pleasant.

Some other highlights that Jan neglected to mention was... that he's been aching to get past a 100m measured cast... well a few words and Kaboom... 122m no problem! Jan, your improvement is amazing! Well done! Mike Pike also on the verge of a breakthrough... Homie, bru... now that you have a decent reel, it's time to get a longer rod... the Beachmaster is awaiting you!

Another highlight for me was John Loomes' presence. John is a current Inland Springbok (Protea:temp:) angler... gave us some great tips on many things. It's always great to have a guy as knowledgeable and experienced as John to join us. We also have some promising Bait news in the pipeline...:spite

Kumzie... it's amazing what you can do with Bait boxes... that insulation of a Polystyrene Box is gonna save okes a fortune!

RoyBoy kept us well entertained until late in the arvie... Carch made a long drive to join us too - thanks again to all who pitched... another memorable event!
