Yip call me a cynic if you will but I doubt India with its massive population and poor environmental track record has sustainable fished rock cod fishery.

Anyway for what it's worth it’s been ages since I have seen or heard of those little rock cods at a Food lovers.

Yup Budgie! Dorys are eating machines and seldom live longer than 5years. Breed like rabbits and grow super quick! Dorado is deffo a great option for buying .

Although not illegal, it's still disgusting to sell such small Dorado.

Hi Bennie

I don't think that there is a minimum size for dorado. They grow so fast that it is not a big deal.

My problem is the way they were caught . Prob with FAD devices as bycatch with tuna.

For me that is the biggest problem.
I don't think they have anything to do with FADS. That size Dorado is bait for larger Dorado that are normally found on the FADS. Generally they are 6-8kg. I think these are just bycatch from another fishery.

Suggest go to Food Lovers Face book page and ask them where those Dorries come from and how they caught.

They sing the sustainable seafood tune these days and I'm sure they would be able to tell you since they have committed to walking the talk.

Saves the speculation.

Pretty sure though that anyway you slice and dice them they more sustainable than the majority of options on offer any where.
