same but the 2 strokes, 06 mdels, never given us a hassel, only once from dirty fuel at breede but thats before we fitted any inline filter which should have been standard. You should get racors or water seperators for those 4's if you dont have... we also added some battery on off selctors or what ever they called to stop current flow when the boat is stored.. yours already has additions to combat corrsion on the electric lines done by the previous owner. ya when we run with the sea the trim tabs are just past half down, also if your running on flat water, say breede at 30knot+ have her trimmed up or she falls off the plane and lurches towards one side which will give you a fright! into chop less bow up trim but you just gotta fiddle till you find a sweat spot, bangs a little in chop especially if you fall into a whole, but you just gotta slow down if you getting to airborn and banging.. thats about it hey the rest you will figure out from playing with her... ahh and nice in the surf , say witsands mouth, the boat turns on itself so tight its wonderful!!

ah and also check your live bait well is sealed to the top on the inside.. i kept losing liveys and then figured out they fell into the boat, the water escapes throught the wet deck system but not the fish.., smell not to cool after a month or two!!

where is the live bait well...... we dont have one of those, one problem however is that the compartment under the seat gets some water in it!

the first thing i did this week was fit water traps, i dont know why this is not done right from the beginning though.... this should be standard on all boats, especially with the quality of fuel we get from our petrol stations!

suprise you do have one!! its next to the port side motor! its also insulated so it keeps beer cold for booze cruizes.., you just need to fit the pump and tubing.. gonna get ours done soon, so will let you know how that goes, same pump for live well and deck wash..

Ya standard stuff boat makers claim add to the price.. bull, its laziness.. ill post some picks of small modes we have done tommorrow that are usefull, drill holes in corners of the fiber glass under the seat so water under the seat falls into the storage area underneath where the batterys etc are stored.. then it will run out.

anything else give me a shout. services are excellent at aqua mall but beware labour charges are bloody high, so if you want to change something try do it your self first :)

excited for you man, you gonna love her!!!!!!
well done on the fish as well, nice karma to get on the first trip! there has been tuna blood on that deck before if i am not mistaken so it wont be long before you add fresh scales and blood and slime!!!

I had no idea that hatch was a livebait well..... it has been used for storing the bungs and other odds and ends, i will def look into changing that though.......

I had the engines serviced by waterfront maring last week, the four stroke services are also by no mean cheap....... have a bone to pick with them on monday though!

My neighbor has exactly the same boat aswell and uses aquamall, he also told me about their labour costs!!

yeah, it was great to get fish on the first trip, we howvere took her for a test run a few evening back and i caught a nice kob of around 7kg! Looking forward to getting some tuna though, just need to start saving up for all the tackle though!!

ya tackle is not cheap, i also had a arc fish duc till about two weeks ago, sold it to another sealine member joey, took me about an hour to blow most of the cash on rod holders and fuel tanks and other tackle!!! bought a tyrnos 30 2 speed, 24kg mono and a daiwa stp 15. really like it, think its a great set up 24kg set up and the experienced guys i spoke to recommened it. Chatted to hammertime about taking to boat to the colour line and deep in really fair weather and that is when i started making moves towards gearing our boat.. plan is to get 2 more of those rigs and a harness. the rig comes to about 4 grand which is not bad considering the price of just one tiagra.!!. gonna work with those three rigs first.. once we have baited a fish or been pist off with a lack of rods will get more....

what sort of line capacity does that reel have filled with 24kg?.... those reels might be a good option for me...... rigging out with Tiagras and Internationals will be way too costly.... what may i ask did the reels cost each?

I still have my ark and doubt if i will be getting rid of it..... if i had to sell it now i would battle to get a decent price for it... so i will keep it for bullnose chokka fishing, melkbos and buffles!

i got 400m mono on the 30, then 5 turn spider hitch onto 10 m 45kg windon, then a 250lb clip swivel or when i bait albright onto flouro 45kg.. well at least that is the plan :) .. 2700 for the reel, 1100 for the rod and 400 for 1000m line..

SCHWEET Don! nice ride and good fish too - see you out there.

ps look at the Okuma reels as well, the titus gold 50W's are the ones I have my eyes on. I got 2 identical PENN setups at a real good price , Senator rods with full aftco rollers and GLD30 two speed reels both filled with 24kg Ande.

Looking at one of the charter guys' setups the simplest terminal rig possible (and ALL you really need), is a 1.2m double made with a bimini, and onto that a 250lbs snap swivel with a figure 8 knot. Onto this you clip your leader which is as long as the rod and consists of 150lbs fluero. Use a thimble on the end that goes onto the snap swivel, also tied on with the fig 8 knot.

Took her out for the first time this morning in dome crappy weather, managed to catch a few fish!
It was really "ombeskof" around the point today, real baptism of fire for a first trip.

Hi Alan, you right there.... sea was a bit lumpy yesterday, they dont call our home the Cape of storms for nothing!!

On the other hand, thinking back to some of our runs to the deep, yesterday was mild!

very nice Dorado75! I had a much older 16.6ft centre console and it was a beauty. SkiCraft must be one of the lickiest boats I know as they always seem to catch fish. Check this bloke that we came across just outside the Point a few years ago. We were catching yellowtail on a 18ft Cape Craft but he had a SkiCraft...talk about SkiCraft luck!
