I have heard stories of people releasing hammerheads in the Transkei, only to see how they get smashed 10m from the rocks.

So much about to worry about pulling the fish in. Just flick the switch.

Until you see your vehicle is slowly but surely starting to slide forward.........
The winch will also work well.......buy yourself a big KP reel, and load it wih braid and .60 line, the cranking power of these reels (1/1), as well as their line capacity is insane!!!

Now this is the kind of informative info most of us are seeking - thanks Enigma, always good advice! The 0.65 - 0.80mm nylon adds drag to help tire the fish and you can bungi the fish with it. In other words the stretch in the line helps absorb shock and tire the fish because on a very tight drag he has to pull the stretch out to eventually get line off the reel so as soon as he slacks off the stretch in the line recoils working against the fish while you just hold on.
0.65mm has also got substantialy more abrasion resistance than the braid and is a lot cheaper when lost 300m out than 300m of Whiplash (R600+)
