;)Mornings Folks..went down to my spot after work yesterday and water really looked good..nice colour and the temp was not bad at all...tide was right BUT ..always a but..the baro had dropped sharply and we could see the little coastal low approaching...kobbies dont like a sudden drop in pressure ...it was good to get a midweek throw in and we now looking towards the weekend with anticipation....

baro will rise..they like that no? This weekend holding thumbs for you mate..
;):cool:_seal1_..Ja ..thanks...

Jip..kobbies dont like a falling barometer...rising is good...the magic number ..well for me and at my spots is...1021hpk...a steady dead baro is also not good...

Sooo..will see what tomorrow brings...but with this east today i fear the water will get grubby and chilly...maybe after the a full days west tomorrow and then Sunday AM will be the window...

;)..As you look at the synoptic you can see that high ridging in...I spose the south easters will blow gale in CT and not sure what that means to the west coast of those areas BUT its gonna blow alright...

For here along the East coast , Gonubie to Kei...it means good positioning of the barometer rising...only snag is the east blowing today will chill the water somewhat...in our favour as you look at the chart you see a little triangle at the bottom of the SA map..that is is a coastal low that will drop the baro overnight tonight and the west will puff tomorrow...as that little coastal gets pushed hard by the high the baro will steadly start to rise and THIS is when the window starts opening...

I say Sunday AM , with a nice early AM outgoing tide , will be the best opportunity...

Well Folks , I will be going for a throw both mornings and heres hoping the kobbies will be around...

Updates to follow ..stay tuned...

Will be giving the prediction a try, see that the wind is still going to be blowing for a few days though.

Bit of a off-topic here, what places are safe to fish alone in Gonubie? I tend to stick to the more populated areas, but always uneasy.

;)..Mornings Folks..some feedback after this mornings session....joh the water is FREEZING , that east from yesterday did the water no favours at all...colour still not too bad and the sea was not up..so not sure when that big swell predicted will come in BUT this west today should bring that warmer water in and then just maybe we can have a look tomorrow morning early again...

Arrie to answer your question , IF you know Gonubie ...from just past the point area towards East London that section of coast is pretty safe , I fish along there all the time ,, never had a problem ..Its when you go from the Wooden Shoe area and towards Bonza Bay that section of coast is a bit dodge ...BUT also fine if you fishing with a mate...

Stay tuned Folks ..will update later once Ive seen the water a bit later again....

Scratching wise the fishing has been quite good around Chintsa, even with the howling wind. Had a fantastic session fishing into the dark last night.

:cool:Mornings Folks , well we heading into an iffy weekend for fishing...coming off of a dark moon spring and the low tides are midday and that is always awkward for most spots along our east coast..

Saturday you have a low at 11h34 and on Sunday at 12h05..

So both mornings are early AM high tides ...

As you look at the synoptic that cold front approaching will hit us proper on Sunday and the west will pump early on Sunday morning...

Saturday will be your best window of opportunity as the winds will be very light and variable...

Water doesnt look too bad and the temp should be around the 17 mark...

Will have a follow up look at conditions later on during the day ...
Stay tuned...

;)Mornings Folks ...while CT has taken a battering with the past 2 cold fronts and one about to smash them again , we here on the east coast are now getting battered by a VERY stiff west wind...

Sooo..its gonna blow gale here today and then ease off tomorrow...during tomorrow the baro will start to rise as that high ridges in behind and I think that Sunday AM will be the window...

Showing light air and with an early AM out going low tired it might just be what the fishing doctor orderd...

Tight lines and stay tuned ...

;) good day Folks .well , it certainly looks interesting what is approaching...we into winter and as we can see on the synoptics , its cold front time...this coming weekend are on point tides for our Jikeleza coast line..it fishes well on an early AM outgoing to low tide ...

Saturday will be the best window of opportunity as that high ridges in and on Sunday the beastly eastly will blow...

Water colour is really good after all this west and the temp is sitting at a balmy 19...

I for one will be throwing some metal early on Saturday morning before that sun cracks the horizon...

You have a low tide at 07h02 on Saturday and around 07h45 on Sunday...

I would say its a good weekend for a gooi...

TIGHT LINES...stay tuned for more updates

;)..Mornings..ja ..this past weekend the sea was on its head...musta been a huge storm out at sea ..tides were great for me early AM lows BUT sea very up and a tad grubby...

Sooo..kobbie dont like that surge and heavy sidewash , also not easy keeping the spoon in the attack zone...

So , we wait and watch as the the coming weekend approaches...
