Where do you catch galjoen and with what tackle?
Mostly in Cape Point Nature reserve, tackle...... 11ft Shimano Exage 110, Shimano speedmaster 3 and some hooks and sinkers and worms or mussles for bait!
I thought about that place as it is safe. Will check for wildcard price and check it out.
Also I will have to reread this forum to find out what artificial lures and or spoons Galjoen take.
Baitcasting is too slow for me. I like to work the fishing. Perhaps I should buy a longer rod for bait and park it then use my 7 or 8ft for spinning at the same time.

Ta for that.
I am very doubtful that you will get a Galjoen on a spinner, and we are fishing in very rough gullies for the Galjoen so chances that you get the spinner back are highly unlikely! As for lures, i know of some Galjoen that have been caught on dropshot, the cammo worms specifically!

NICE!
I honestly thought that those buggers would be near imposinle to get on dropshot.

Do you know if it was a nice size and if they have any pics?
It's not that I'm doubting it it would just be nice to see a picture of it.

i dont know the exact size of the fish or seen any pics... but a few people saw the fish and i can quite believe it taking into consideration how much galjoen were around this season, and as i already said, i know of galjoen that have been caught on Cammo worms thrown as baits!
