Disgusting league behaviour again!

Fish guts and carcasses left all over the rocks. This makes the rocks dangerous to stand on.

Rubbish piled into an old trap and left for the locals to clean up.

Littering freaks me out.

I have decided not to keep quiet any more, if I find people blatantly littering I am going to open my trap and tell them off.
Yesterday again, 4 youngsters arrive at my favourite fishing spot, they open their lunch and the first thing they do is throw their trash behind a rock.

It must go to their upbringing?
My children will never dare litter as I taught them not to from a small age. I doesn't take much parenting to teach your child manners.

Grrr.

It's bad here too. Salt and fresh. Seems to me the only way to treat such people is to do the same thing they do to people who break the road rules over here.
Fine the living daylights out of them.

Sad but true.

Yes I agree. Those were just some of the pictures...never mind the bottles stuck into each and every crevice. This year saw the worst ive seen it. The overnighters left the place in a terrible state this year. It ticks me off that they fish 4 rods. Tents. Tackle carriers but they cant carry their rubbish back. I will say. All holiday or out of towners.

Disgusting. Im also not keeping quiet anymore. This particular league group should be fined. They are a disgrace to the fishing community.

Well done for naming and shaming. It is a disgrace. Full grown men and they can't pick up their bloody litter. What the hell is wrong with these people. It's pathetic.

I am all for the naming and shaming bit but here you gotta be careful.

Did YOU ACTUALLY SEE these individuals committing said offenses?

I personally know both of em and doubt they would behave in such a poor way.

One thing is for sure - that hammer would be in a chiller for bait !

En ja .. die roofkyker is nog hier ! :sha

Excuse me....who in earth do you think you are to accuse me of this filthy mess.... I didn't even fish on the platform. Just because you walked past me on the path and I'm the only name you know you accuse me. You can go suck flippen toffee bud!!! All my mess is in the bin as I pack it in my bait box!! Dean brought a whole bunch of nylon back with him.guys fished there all night.why accuse the league guys? You the disgrace for accustations like that!!!

Jarred, I did not accuse you or Dean, you both were part of the group, thats what I and many others see, the group, it could be any of you,for all I know. Im sick and tired of it always being this one or that one, you must surely know most of the guys in that group, the question is, HAVE YOU OR ANY OF THE INNOCENT ONES CONFRONTED ANY OF THE GUYS YOU WERE FISHING WITH AND DISCUSSED THIS? WHAT DISCIPLINE HAS BEEN ISSUED?

Thats the bottom line. One chap was in the car park with you guys, yellow line bunched up, then you get to the rocks and theres yellow line, same line litterring the place. I go fish there nearly every second said day, and none of that mess was there before your group arrived. So take the punch, its what you do about it afterwards that counts. You dont have to clean up the place, I DO and the guys that call it their local fishing spot. The right approach would be to say you have confronted the guys and the league organisers and issue an apology, thats the right thing to do , not to get offensive and always blame everybody else, thats become a cliche now,

You and Dean are well known, respected anglers, and if you innocent, know that your reputation has been branded by the anglers that fish with you. They have put your names to shame, not me.

Enough said and end of story.

Please read original post, it states they were part of the group. Nowhere does it say the two of them made the mess, the group they fished in is to blame. Thats truth, and fact, no need to substantiate my post.

Nou wat sê jy nou ou grootvis. Maklik om te beskuldig. Kom ons kyk of jy kan verskoning vra.
Michael Bosch Jarred VanNiekerk i fished platform that night, before i get slaughtered by everyone, that hammer didnt have anything to do with us, i did however clean the surrounding area of bottles and cans and line and stuffed them into that crate becz when we got there it looked horrible, yes i should have taken everything back i get that but there was so much rubbish " not mine" that i wouldnt have made it back home, my stuff except the box of pilchards came home with me. I know i should have taking the other rubbish back but we were fully loaded.

No, those pictures are just a drop in the ocean compared to the rest of "fresh" rubbish left lying around there. I was quite prepared to get the " be careful" dont blame attitude. I have had it for years. Nothing new to me. These guys know they left the place in a mess. You can stand on your head. I can gaurentee you, if i showed you more, you would have said , no that wasnt my mess from the mess you left there the night before.

So, really, i dont need to apologise for anything, Im not afraid to voice my opinion on the state of the fishing spots that we have to deal with. If you can carry the mess down there in the first place, you can carry it back. I carried 3 large yellowtail back from the platform, and I survived.

At least you guys are talking about it. ;)

Hopefully someone will get to the bottom of who or whom the litterers are and give them a stern warning that this sort of behaviour in future will not be tolerated.

The facts speak for themselves, someone left their trash behind, not to mention the dead Hammerhead Shark which did not deserve to die, that a whole debate on its own.
