Thanks guys….its been awesome and yet another great day today!!!

Once again the bite was really hot early in the morning on the bank and less than a half hour after setting the spread of one lure and three teasers we had two fish on the teasers. Before we even pitched the baits one turned and hooked up on the long left lure, the Makaira 19´, the only lure with hooks in the water.

I pitched a bait and the second fish jumped on it and we were on with the double header.

We worked David´s fish on the #130 first and soon enough released it. By now Matt was way onto the backing on the stand up #50 and we had to work it all back.

We got right on top of it but unluckily the hook pulled…. quiet a rare thing on a circle!

About a half an hour later we got a fish come on the long left lure, take 50 yards and off.

Twenty minutes later we had a better looking fish come on the Moyes Bushmaster long right teaser and as soon as I pitched the bait it crash bite it from the side and cut the bait in half…..that was the first fish I missed on the baits since we got here (9 in total)!

I pitched the other bait but the fish had turned and took the long left makaira10´and we hooked up.

Matt jumped in the chair and the fish come in easily….

…but as soon as we got the leader it went mad.

This was the best fish we have so far on the trip at about 450 pounds.

It started getting pretty rough on the bank so we moved to the east to find some calmer water but it was pretty quiet….

Yup, guys it is unreal!

But, as good as it is there is one boat that is out fishing all others.

Being a private boat, the BIG OH, a 65ft does have the advantage of being a BIG, definitely something very important here where the wind blows constantly. It means they raise more fish, have a better presentation on their wake and can fish the bank much more than others.

They also fish 3 hours more than the charter boats every day and obviously being private have professional crew and anglers that fish together everyday and do not have to deal with inexperienced anglers…very important here especially on the hook up ratio when pitching baits.

Having said that their numbers are unreal and hats off to them for probably having the most numbers of any boat on Blue Marlin ever…

They have released 304, yes that is right 304 Blue Marlin in 49 days of fishing this season!

That is better than an average of 6 a day….

Beat that!!!!!!
:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

But yesterday was a reality check…. Even this place can be slow, which does not mean we did not catch a fish.

It was slow for everybody and from the 6 boats fishing the bank only three that I heard off caught one fish and the rest blanked.

The Big Oh had two fish when we left but by the time we were going for dinner three hours after getting back they pulled in the marina with 7 flags flying. So, there was a late bite!!!

Anyway, we had a very slow morning yesterday which might have been good has the boys were all sleeping, heavily Babalazed from the previous nights celebrations!

It was windier than normal which made for hard going, but just before one we finally had two fish show up on the teasers.

It was the best switch so far, the one fish was so aggressive that he come to a few meters after the teaser….I actually had to crank a few meters to get the pitch bait closer to the boat and as soon as we took the teaser out the water he piled on the bait and we hooked up!

I run to drop a second switch bait as we circled around to keep momentum but the second fish come to the bait but never took it!

It was Daniel´s turn on the chair and it was a pretty nice fight as the fish raced down swell (luckily) and we backed up hard on him.

As soon as we took the leader the fish have us some nice jumps…

Check the ballyhoo (half beak) on the side!!!
:):):)
