CAPE VERDE

The sea had really settled by our last fish and everyone was hooking up, but there was a plane to catch and time to go home...

Some incredible fishing Duarte, and awesome pics as usual. Well done on an excellent conversion rate as well!
Do you keep a couple of baits ready on different rig sizes depending on what shows up, or is it one size fits all?

Thanks guys….epic trip indeed!

Just got home but will post a few more pics for the trip in the next couple of days!!!

I normally kept two baits sometimes a ballyhoo (but they pretty big there) and a bonito, but other times just two ballyhoo. I do not think the size of the bait matters but do believe the ballyhoo with the small chugger in front gives a edge on the hookup!

What I did is have one with a 12/0 circle on 300 pound leader and one on a 16/0 on 450 pound leader and then obviously choose depending on what showed up! Even tough we did not really see any Big fish, others boat did and if I had the option I would have had a #80 or #130 ready with a 20/0 circle and 600 leader for that one fish!
