Bolt on Rod-Holder (Scotty type)

Has anyone tried this nylon scotty type rod holder for forward mounting/baiting up etc. Was on special for only R200 from a local on-line store! Last I checked Scotties were over R500 a few years ago. Not sure if they still have them available at this price. Also not sure of the size or diameter rod butt it will take.

Bulky had one in the center of his hatch... was great to fish from but was a b!tch when you had to re-enter your kayak from the drink.
