netters got a 56kg yesterday, and are shooting their nets as we speak. Doing 3 to 4 hauls a day at the moment... 2 of my mates fished last night, nothing... Only some elf coming out and 2 undersize cob at the pool. Welldone guys! I hope u clean the bay out, then the problem will be gone.. Along with ur livelyhood. Hope it happens soon, 'effers!

You know what pee me off the most is treknetting guys saying they only fishing for their livelyhood, if that is the case they will be honest with themselves and only take their quota and their permitted species that they may catch. I saw a documentary on National geographic of the Amazon tribes and they fish for their livelyhood and the fish is like in a feeding frenzy and they only take 5 or 6 fish for the day and come back the next to take the same amount to survive the day....that in my opinion is catching for your survival.....

Question: Can't MCM assign inspectors like they do with the Lobster and abalone guys. When these guys dock inspectors are waiting to inspect surely they can do the same for trek-netters

its bad hey. Its not about being suurgat! Its about much more. Maybe we can boycott our fishing license fees! They dont police false bay, but if 50000 anglers in the wc dont renew their permits, they will take notice.

that would be a worry. half of the Mitchell plain fishing community can.t afford.they fish for the table.now this happens.what are they left with.they do CRIME.exactly what these netters are doing.CRIME IN BROAD DAY LIGHT...

Take photos and video ands expose the bastards.....then put it on TV........

The treknetters wipe out more fish in one day than anglers do in a year or five, so why bother releasing at all?

that's a good idea Rean, but remember it is always very easy to police law abiding anglers and very difficult to catch and punish the bad guys out there, it's just easier for MCM to avoid the guys WITHOUT permits and rather tackle the anglers WITH permits.....my point is eventually if we don't take out permits we will pay the fines as i'm sure MCM will seize the opportunity to generate more income.

Trouble is, 1 permit per legal fisherman, easy to confront, but a boat or beach full of illegals against two inspectors - naaah, they work for their family, not for the preservation of fish-kind.

u know what I am sick off...I am tired of guys jujping up and down, ranting and raving like little boys about all the treknetters and boats, guys taking more than their limit and all that!

Here is the question! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE to stop this? Coming onto sealine making a fuss to our fellow anglers doesnt help anyone!

We all suffer together, but ffs then do something about it! Burn down something...

Start putting word to mouth!

I have to agree with beach drifter, i am in the process of getting some media involved, cause this is the only legal way to so so, mcm doesnt care!!!!!!!!!! if any one has a desent plan that could work then please count me in. Nou raak ek ook gatvol!! or els can the rest of sealine get off their backsides and lets all stand together, if we all rock up at the beach and stopping the treknetters, then the cops will get involved, wich might be a good thing to get exposure. the rest off the country stand up for whatever they think is right, and then they actuly get stuff done. I think its called Toy toy. lets pull finger guys.

They got caught with undersize fish ,went to court and are back out there,this time doing 4-5 treks a day....we as fishermen that take our quote will have no say in what happens,we get asked for permits,and so on when fishing but the trekkers dont get asked nothing... it is up to the goverment MCM and the rest involed to stop this...and by the time they relize how bad the trek fishermen are stuffing up the fish stocks it might be to late.....

As jy 50000 bymekaar kry ,tel my by dan het jy 50001,maar ek glo nie jy sal by 50 kom nie,ons is al die jaare wetsgehoorsame landsburgers wat ongelukkig nie maklik saamstaan as dit by wetteloosheid kom nie.Miskien as jy die getal bymekaar kan kry om net een jaar nie te hengel nie en so ook nie permitte uit te neem nie,maar die probleem daar is dat ons hernuwingsdatum ook oor n hele jaar versrei is,due lyk dit of dit sal moet 2jaar sonder hengel word wat maat sal neuk.Sterkte met jou poging.::S

Only one way is to ban treknetting once and for all, the goverment needs to wake up and do something..but then again they don't really give a stuff. So my policy is I will not be voting for them.
