Okuma cedros azores xp or metaloid cannot be under rated. They fish exceptionally well. Pop on a Quality 30lb braid around 300m and good to go. 6000 or 55 size is enough that's a light rod, little point in oversized reel
One of the strongest lure casting rods I have ever held is the new assassin duel xt mh 8ft
Pair this with a 6000 or 8000 Shimano and 30lb JDB DNA and you can cast all day and still pull out a bus. 8ft casts way better than you think.

Lekker rods, I would suggest going for the heavy instead of the xh which is a bit to stiff
Won't find a better rod for the money, assassin edge 2 is the only other one to look at, bit lighter
We did a review of the new Beach master 2 on untraceable tackle Tuesday. While the euphoria is a fine rod in its class and well finished with great components and cosmetics its not in the same price or class of blank as the beach master 2. The assassin is a far lighter blank and a lot crisper...
Off the rocks good area for bluefish and blacktail some kob and musselcracker as well. In the river good spotted grunter, some kob, skipjack, even river snapper and small kingfish in the upper reaches
Tight call, very different rods. Guides etc are better on the loomis, negatives are the micro guides which can be an issue with leader knots. Also the assassin is a little sturdier, handles a 4oz better even with a decent bait. If you focus on finesse bluefish with mainly a 2oz the archipelago...
I love my assassin duel zero 8ft m. Got a soft enough tip for stickbaits and to take up the shock of big hits, yet enough backbone to kans a tuna. Most versatile rod on the market, can pop and jig well to
Both are really good high end reels that see you well, the pg hg decision is often those targeting sharks, prefer the slower ratio, the faster ration can very helpful when reeling in over bricky reefs. To throw a complete spanner in the works have you considered the daiwa bg-mq. Smooth and...
I prefer the cone method, if the currents running too strong rather move as the prefer calmer conditions. Bigger ones actively feed at night. Don't ignore ghost crab, sand mussel or even a squid strip as bait and always hold your rod. White steenbras love to pick up the bait and run in towards...
