Zip and myself went for a quick dive at kreefte baai just before melkbos as the water looked good and we where keen to get some galjoen before the season closed.

Well while i was closing up my pajero a white dolphin shaped bmw pulled into the parking lot with two suspect looking teenagers. The car had the old yellow with black numbers on the license plate and i though that's strange as its not legal as far as i know. they parked next to me and asked me some questions about how the diving is there etc.

We then launched and as i swam out I watched them as I kind of knew they where up to tricks. Just as I got to the back i saw them run up the dunes to our cars, they went  to my drivers side window and smashed it out all the time while we just stared in amazement. ZIP let out the loudest scream i ever heard and the guy breaking in just stopped and ran to his car and pulled out there like lightning. We swam back to the car and to our surprise he did not take anything, even my Ipod was left right on my dash board.

The police then came and we open up a case of theft and I must say they where really helpful, they even wanted to take finger prints etc so well done to them.

Its amazing how bold these kids are and if you are diving or surfing a remote area especially the area from big bay up to melkbos you need to watch out for any suspicious looking cars etc as a lot of people have had cars stolen and stuff stolen.

Just glad no one was hurt.

good to hear that they did not steal anything..... i have heard that a lot of these crimes are by guys from atlantis!

A couple of years back a buddy of mine had a similar experience at millers point, he came up for a breath of air and saw his front door open of his bakkie, he started screaming at the guys..... next thing the one guy still waved back at him, jumped in his bakkie and sped away, they found the bakkie trashed a few weeks later near hermanus!

That is terrible, cant think of anything worse than to have your car stolen while diving. I actually had my car stolen from smitswinkel bay about 7 years ago and it sucked. We had to walk to millers to call the cops who picked us up and took us back to the station with guns and all. My friend peed in his suit while diving and it stank the charge office out! I always laught when i think about that. car was insured so i wasnt too worried. Also recon it was atlantis kids. but you never know?

Had my car stolen at Oudekraal about 5 years back.On our way down the hill,my dive partner says he forgot his mask so took the keys and went back up while I got in.After the dive when we got back to the top I thought he had pulled a fast one and moved the car :fbash

Ended up walking to Camps Bay police station in our wetsuits, guns and a few Hotties in tow as well ........

Cops told me it was the 7th car that month to be stolen out the same parking lot !! How's that for some :Xpro-active policing !!

hi marthin

they where 2 coloured males about 25years old, they both had peak caps on and golf shirts so they did not look scruffy. The one that spoke to me had a small gold tooth so if i see him i will moer him::gas: and sell that tooth to replace my window:fbash

It must be a syndicate operating in the area. Did the cops bust the couple that broke into your car?

Hi

Was my car broken into on wednesday at Bontkop and another guys isuzu bakkie.

Gave the Melkbos cops the descriptions of the people as well as a friend at Milnerton police. Specific unique easilt identifiable items were taken from my car as well as the other guys van.

Cops say the guys are becoming more brazen as they breaking in, in clear daylight. They come looking as they going to the beach but loiter around in the parking lot.

If you see such activity take down the registration number and car details and description as they often regular the same spots.

People are always asking me what about the sharks in the sea. And I always say I am safer in the water than on the shore. It is so K@K diving knowing your car can be broken into. Had one experience at Oudekraal but we should have been clued up as was December Saterday PM and the okes were smoking tik amongst their families as we walked down.

I am so glad I moved out of CT- small fish, big toothy fish and idiots on the shore. But you guys can at least have some good dives in winter!::S
