Hi Guys
You probably know the feeling of hooking and loosing a lot of fish on the zarra spooks and the urge to brake your rods in half and burn your boat!! Well I experienced it again this weekend when I only managed only 1 hookup out of 5 positive takes on the super spook. I then, out of pure frustration, pinched two bigger trebles from one of my big jerk baits and replaced the 3 smallish trebles with these. I put one in front and one at the back and I left the middle spot open. Maybe it was just luck, but I managed 4 solid hookups (all on the back hook) out of the next 5 takes! It also didn't look like the bigger trebles affected the action of the lure.
I think the designed spacing between the 3 wire loops where you attached the hooks forced them to use the smaller trebles so the trebles wont snagg onto each other when casting or retreiving.
What if one take it a bit further and replace the two big trebles with 2 "sure set" hooks like those you get on some of the rapala lures, with the bigger hook facing down on the front, and the bigger hook facing up on the rear??
